NHY'S INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM

The NHY Independent Living Program (ILP) is a transitional program for current and former foster youth, 16 - 21 years of age.  In addition to receiving housing, residents taking part in the Independent Living Program will learn job skills, education and workforce readiness, economic well-being and financial planning, and other crucial life skills taught through monthly workshops.  This training will provide our residents with the tools and strong foundation they need to become completely self-sufficient and independent.

To be eligible for NHY’s Independent Living Program you must:

  • Be a current or former foster youth between 16 - 21 years of age
  • Be enrolled in school / vocational program or currently employed
  • Be drug-free

Once accepted into the NHY Independent Living Program, participants will be required to maintain a drug-free lifestyle, attend monthly workshops, attend school, obtain gainful employment, and comply with program rules and regulations to order to remain eligible.

If you feel that you or someone you know meets these eligibility requirements, please fill out the NHY Independent Living Program application, and send to ariane@nevadahomesforyouth.org.
